Welcome to the Multi-Modal Safety Division at the Transportation Safety Institute.

TSI's Multi-Modal Safety Division provides a variety of transportation safety-related courses to Federal, State and private industry audiences, including hazardous materials transportation and motor carrier safety compliance.  Training includes field activities to prepare participants for immediate transfer of information from a classroom to on-the-job situations while emphasizing the practical side of regulatory compliance.

DoD Recognized

TSI's Multi-Modal Safety Division is officially recognized as an authorized provider of hazardous materials training for the Department of Defense (DoD). The formal designation in the Air Force Interservice Manual (AFMAN 24-604(i)) allows TSI to provide critical, high-quality training to active duty, reserve, National Guard and DoD contractors.

Highlighted Courses

Lithium Battery Transportation - This course focuses on preparing and transporting lithium battery shipments in accordance with 49 CFR.
Explosives Transportation - This course covers the hazardous material regulations dealing with the offering and transporting of explosives using 49 CFR.
Performance-Oriented Packaging - This course covers specialized training in the performance-oriented packaging requirements of 49 CFR to include regulations dealing with the manufacturing, testing, and marking of non-bulk packaging and intermediate bulk containers.
U.S. DOT CMV Collision Investigation - This specialized 3-day class covers all aspects of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) incident/accident investigations.  This course will focus on the different types of accidents involving rollovers, collision, trailer swings, and jackknifing.
